Uvod/Editorial

    Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    Dylan Thomas

    photoDok demokratija u cijelom svijetu neprestano pada na elementarnim testovima, Camera Lucida se trudi još više da nastavi svoju umjetničku potragu za otvorenom vizuelnom politikom koja prevazilazi sva postavljena teorijska ili institucionalna ograničenja i bori se (protiv umirućeg svijetla humanosti?), transcendirajući granice i rušeći – stvarne ili imaginarne – zidove, koje su izgradile pojedine nacionalne politike, insistirajući na apsurdnoj semantici etiketiranja ne-evropskih ljudi svim i svačim, osim „ljudskim bićima". Kada nas stvarnost i istorija izdaju, filmska umjetnost ne prestaje da nas podsjeća na ovaj brutalni proces dehumanizacije.

    Novi trobroj 21-23 donosi još filmske jouissance kroz tekstove na engleskom, srpsko-hrvatskom, francuskom, makedonskom i njemačkom naših lucidnih redovnih autora Ronald Bergana, Jean-Michel Frodona i Jonathan Rosenbauma, zajedno sa novim autorima Micheal Pattisonom (koji pronicljivo analizira sve izazove filmske kritike), Dennis Vetterom (koji nam donosi svoju selekciju upravo završenog Berlinskog festivala) i Vuk Uskoković, fiziko-hemičar i nano-naučnik, koji, pored brojnih objavljenih naučnih djela, piše i sjajne tekstove o filmu i umjetnosti.

    Tekstove su preveli naši briljantni mladi prevodioci: Marko Jusič, Nina Bukilić i Ivona Prskalo.

    Fokus ovog broja su tri mlada crnogorska filmska autora koji su na nedavnim međunarodnim filmskim festivalima osvojili nagrade sa prvim kratkim filmovima, najavljujući dugo-očekivani, obećavajući novi talas crnogorske kinematografije  - Dušan Kasalica, Senad Šahmanović i Ivan Salatić, sa kojima razgovara Milica Minić. Čitaćete i o festivalskim izdanjima iz 2015 - Cannes, Manaki Braća, Bitola, Torino FF i 2016. Berlinu tekstovima Joan Dupont, Theo Votsosa, Srebre Gjorgijevske, Dennisa Vettera i Maje Bogojević (osvrt na filmove Šaulov sin i Victoria, prikazane na Internacionalnom festivalu Manaki braća), sa inovacijom broja koji predstavlja festival Video Medeja u radovima Eugenije Gortchakove i Damona Mohla.

    Mala educacion donosi sjajne akademske radove Zerine Ćatović (eseji o djelu Živka Nikolića  i Velimira Stojanovića), kao i nastavke teza Anite Erak (o rodnim stereotipima Disney filmova) i Sare Radović, o Ingmaru Bergmanu.

    In memoriam, zahvaljujući Ronaldu Berganu, Jean-Michel Frodonu, Biljani Žikić i Dennisu Vetteru, odaje počast David Bowieju, Chantal Ackerman, Jacques Rivettesu, Ettori Scola, Vilmos Zsigmondu, Gabriele Ferzetti, Robert Loggia, Maureen O'Hara-i, Andrzej Zulawskom, sjećajući se i Alan Rickmana, Wes Cravena, Leonard Nimoya, Omar Sharifa, Christopher Lee-ja i mnogih drugih koje smo nedavno izgubili.

    U rubrici Nove knjige, otkrićete impresivne knjige: Aleksandar Bečanovićev Leksikon filmskih režisera, uvod Marine Kostove za knjigu Manchevski, Jean-Michel Frodonov prikaz knjige Raoul Ruiz i Ronald Berganova nova izdanja sjajnih Francois Truffaut: Interviews, Sergei Eisenstein, Jean Renoir i Coen brothers.

    Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    Dylan Thomas

    With the world democracy continually failing its most basic tests, Camera Lucida strives even harder to continue itsartistic search for an open visual politics beyond any set theoretical or institutional boundaries, and struggles on (against the dying light of humanity?) by transcending the borders and crushing down the - real or imaginary - walls, built by some national politics, insisting on their absurd semantics of labelling non-European humans as anything else, but not “human beings”. When the reality and history fail, film art persists in reminding us of this brutal process of dehumanisation.

    21-23 great issue brings more film jouissance for you through texts in English, Serbo-Croat, French, Macedonian and German by our lucid regulars Ronald Bergan, Jean-Michel Frodon, and Jonathan Rosenbaum, with new authors, Michael Pattison (insightfully analysing all challenges of film criticism), Dennis Vetter (and his selection of Berlinale), and Vuk Uskoković, a physico-chemist and nano-scientist who, besides having published numerous scientific texts, also writes revealingly on film and arts. The texts are translated by our brilliant young translators: Marko Jusič, Nina Bukilić and Ivona Prskalo.

    The focus of this issue are three young Montenegrin film authors who have recently won awards at international film festivals with their first short films, thus signaling a more promising, long awaited, new wave of Montenegrin film – Dušan Kasalica, Senad Šahmanović and Ivan Salatić, interviewed by Milica Minić. You will find out about the 2015 festivals of Cannes, Manaki Brothers, Bitola, Torino FF and 2016 Berlin in texts by Joan Dupont, Theo Votsos, Srebra Gjorgijevska, Dennis Vetter and Maja Bogojević (focused on films Son of Saul and Victoria, screened at Manaki Brothers Festival), with this issue’s innovation of presenting Video Medeja art works by Eugenia Gortchakova and Damon Mohl.

    Mala educacion introduces outstanding academic work by Zerina Ćatović (essays on Živko Nikolić and Velimir Stojanović) and continues excellent theses of Anita Erak and Sara Radović, on gender stereotypes in Disney cartoons and Ingmar Bergman, respectively.

    In memoriam, thanks to Ronald Bergan, Jean-Michel Frodon, Biljana Žikić and Dennis Vetter, pays tribute to David Bowie, Chantal Ackerman, Jacques Rivettes, Ettore Scola, Vilmos Zsigmond, Gabriele Ferzetti, Robert Loggia, Maureen O’Hara, Andrzej Zulawski, remembering also Alan Rickman, Wes Craven, Leonard Nimoy, Omar Sharif, Christopher Lee and many others whom we have lost recently.

    In the section on New Books, you will discover impressive new books: Aleksandar Bečanović‘s Leksikon filmskih režisera, Marina Kostova’s introduction to Manchevski, Jean-Michel Frodon’s review of Raoul Ruiz and Ronald Bergan’s magnificent re-editions of Francois Truffaut: Interviews, Sergei Eisenstein, Jean Renoir and the Coen brothers.
